Assessments

Skill Assessment
An experienced practitioner conducts a comprehensive skills assessment to identify an individual's strengths and weaknesses. This crucial process involves directly evaluating the person's abilities, taking into account their appropriate age level. The results are meticulously analyzed, leading to the development of an Individualized Treatment Plan that outlines the specific skills to be targeted for improvement.
The choice of assessment tool depends on the individual's age and existing skill set. However, it's important to note that all assessment tools employed in Applied Behavior Analysis are valid and reliable measures regularly utilized. These tools have undergone rigorous validation to ensure their accuracy and consistency in assessing various domains of functioning.
Functional Behavior Assessment
Conducting a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) is crucial for identifying and comprehending behaviors. The FBA process entails carefully documenting and analyzing behavior patterns over a span of several days. It also involves conducting interviews with parents/caregivers and manipulating the environment to gain a holistic understanding. This comprehensive information allows us to uncover the underlying motivation (or function) driving the individual's behavior.
Once the FBA results are analyzed, an Individualized Behavior Intervention Plan (IBIP) is crafted. This plan is specifically tailored to address the identified behavior and its underlying function. To ensure effective implementation, parents receive appropriate training on the IBIP. Furthermore, data collection is an integral part of the process, allowing us to monitor progress and make necessary adjustments along the way. This diligent approach ensures that interventions are well-informed, personalized, and consistently evaluated to support the individual's growth and development.

ABA Therapy
Center Based Services
Center-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy offers a structured and controlled environment designed to support your child's development and establish a consistent routine. This approach involves carefully managing the environment to minimize distractions and maximize opportunities for your child to practice targeted skills.
In center-based therapy, skilled staff create an environment that is conducive to learning by setting up specific situations that enable the teaching of essential skills. For example, by transforming the therapy room into a classroom-like setting, children can be effectively taught skills such as focused attention, following instructions, and taking turns. This controlled environment allows for focused and targeted instruction, helping children acquire and generalize critical skills in a supportive and structured manner.

Home Based Services
Implementing ABA Therapy in the home setting provides children with the opportunity to learn and develop essential skills within their natural environment. Since children spend the majority of their time at home and feel comfortable there, home-based ABA therapy offers a familiar and conducive learning environment.
One of the advantages of home-based therapy is the convenience it offers, as it eliminates the need for additional travel or logistics. This convenience factor allows for seamless integration of therapy sessions into the child's daily routine. Moreover, the home setting offers a unique advantage for teaching crucial life skills, such as self-care tasks (e.g., eating, dressing, personal hygiene), as well as social skills, including interactions with siblings and turn-taking.
ABA therapy in the home setting enables practitioners to focus on behaviors and challenges specific to the child's home environment. By tailoring interventions to address these specific needs, therapy becomes highly individualized and impactful. Additionally, involving parents and caregivers in their child's ABA therapy encourages active participation and empowers them with strategies to support their child's progress even beyond therapy sessions.
By leveraging the familiarity and comfort of the home environment, home-based ABA therapy optimizes learning opportunities, promotes generalization of skills, and fosters meaningful family involvement in the child's developmental journey.
Consultations

Home and Community
Home and community consultation offers personalized parent training designed to meet the unique needs of your child. This training equips you with the essential tools and strategies to effectively engage with your child both at home and in the community. The consultation process can address specific topics or concerns related to these environments.
Home and community consultations typically encompass various components, including parent interviews, observations of both the child and parent, and dedicated parent training sessions. Through interviews, valuable insights are gained into the child's behavior and developmental context. Observations allow for a comprehensive understanding of the child's interactions within the home and community settings. These assessments guide the formulation of effective strategies tailored to your child's specific requirements.
The cornerstone of home and community consultation is parent training. This aspect provides you with the necessary knowledge and skills to actively support your child's progress in their everyday environment. By acquiring evidence-based techniques, you are empowered to foster positive interactions and promote your child's development within the home and community contexts.

School
Recognizing that a significant portion of a child's time is spent in the school environment, we place great importance on fostering collaboration with relevant school staff, particularly when concerns arise in this setting. This collaborative approach enables us to provide comprehensive support to the child across different contexts.
Our school-related services encompass various components tailored to meet the child's specific needs:
-
School shadowing: We offer the option of having a trained professional closely support and observe the child in the school setting, ensuring their individual needs are met and facilitating a smooth integration into the classroom environment.
-
Classroom/student observation: Our team conducts thorough observations of the child within the classroom setting to gain valuable insights into their behavior, interactions, and learning environment. These observations contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the child's needs and inform our intervention strategies.
-
Teacher consultations and training: We actively engage with teachers, providing them with valuable insights and evidence-based strategies to effectively support the child's learning and development. Through consultations and training, we foster collaboration and equip educators with tools to address the child's specific challenges within the school setting.
-
Attendance and advocacy at school meetings: Our team is available to attend school meetings alongside parents, advocating for the child's needs and collaborating with school staff to ensure the child receives the appropriate support and accommodations. We actively participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, providing expertise and guidance to create an inclusive educational plan.
By collaborating closely with school staff and offering a range of services, including shadowing, observations, consultations, training, and attendance at school meetings, we aim to create a supportive and conducive learning environment that addresses the child's unique needs. This collaborative approach ensures continuity of care and promotes positive outcomes for the child both at home and in the school setting.
